Terms & Conditions

  1. The art competition (hereafter ‘competition’) is organised by Beechwood College (hereafter ‘the organisers’) and is open to anyone over the age of 6 who has been diagnosed with an Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC), a Learning Disability or other Special Education Needs.
  2. The competition opens at 9am BST on 1st July, 2020 and closes at 5pm BST on 31st August, 2020. Only entries received during this time are eligible. Entries that do not adhere to the rules described here, or with an incomplete entry form, or received outside of these dates and times will be ineligible and will not be considered in the initial judging between 1st September and 6th September, 2020.
  3. Entries to the competition must be identified in one of the three categories – 2D or 3D art, digital media, or poetry & prose – on the entry form. Each entry can only be entered in one category and must be accompanied by a fully completed entry form.
  4. All entries must be submitted via www.createart.org.uk
  5. Individuals may submit multiple entries, including multiple entries within categories, but can only be awarded one prize in any category.
  6. Entries in the poetry & prose category should not exceed 150 words.
  7.  Digital photographs of entries in the 2D/2D art category must be high resolution and in .jpg format and must not exceed 10MB in size. No other file types will be accepted.
  8. Artists’ original work in the Digital Media categories must either have a maximum duration of 2 minutes (if it is a film or animation) or must not exceed 25MB (if it is digital photography or digitally generated graphics).
  9. Judging will take place on between the 7th and the 25th September , 2020 and will be based only on the uploaded work submitted.
  10. The judges will assess all of the entries and score them against pre-agreed criteria, winner and runner-ups for each category will be based on the highest scored in that category.  In event of a tie, the judges will be asked to vote again to determine the final winners.
  11. Winners will be notified by 2nd October by email.
  12. The winners will be announced on www.createart.org.uk on 5th October.
  13. All entries will be available to view online at www.createart.org.uk from the date they are received.
  14. The prizes in the 2D & 3D art category are: First Prize £100 Hobbycraft gift voucher, Runners-up prize £50 Hobbycraft gift voucher
  15. The prizes in the Digital Media category are: First Prize £100 Hobbycraft gift voucher, Runners-up prize £50 Hobbycraft gift voucher
  16. The prizes in the Poetry& Prose category are: First Prize £100 Hobbycraft gift voucher, Runners-up prize £50 Hobbycraft gift voucher
  17. There will be no cash or other alternative to the prizes offered and prizes are not transferable. The organisers reserve the right substitute prizes of equal or greater value at any time.
  18. Finalists’ entries may be broadcast and/or published in all media, adapted, in whole or in part, including but not limited to press, broadcast tv and radio and/or publication on the websites www.beechwoodcollege.co.uk and www.lshealthcare.co.uk at the organiser’s sole discretion. Finalists may be asked, but are not required, to participate in publicity including without limitation media interviews.
  19. In the event of any dispute regarding the Terms & Conditions, conduct, results and all other matters relating to a competition, the decision of the organisers shall be final and no correspondence or discussion shall be entered into.
  20. The organisers reserve the right to amend these rules at any time
